Carene Roxanne Umugwaneza

Carene Roxanne currently serves as a Mission Curator-Healthcare at the African Leadership Academy, where she teaches, mentors, and connects students to opportunities in the healthcare industry. Additionally, she is the Health Employment Pillar Lead for the Health Collaborative program. With extensive experience in global health and research, Carene specialises in health education, women’s health, and non-infectious diseases.

Previously, Carene collaborated with the Alliance for Healthy Communities, closely partnering with the Rwandan Defense Force to deliver HIV prevention, testing, treatment education services, and psychosocial support to the community. She actively participates in the National Technical Working Group for Key and Priority Populations with the Rwanda Biomedical Center. Furthermore, she has developed expertise in women’s sexual and reproductive health rights and justice issues through her involvement with the Rwandan Women Network. 


She holds an MSc in Global Health Delivery from the University of Global Health Equity and a degree in Healthcare Management with a concentration in Global Perspectives from Southern New Hampshire University.
